Frequently Asked Questions

I saw an item here a last week/month/year and now it’s gone. Can I still order it?

WACKO is primarily a brick & mortar store best explored & shopped in person.

Our diverse, curated inventory is ever-changing. A book seen last week, well-stocked on the shelf, can sell out in an afternoon. The same goes for all of our products.

With this website, we seek to make our new, best-selling or store exclusive products available to those who are unable to come visit us in Los Angeles.

If you have a question about the availability of a product not found on the site, please call us or send an email to sales@soapplant.com. We will do our best to assist you.

Can you email or call me when an out-of-stock item is in stock?

Yes. We have a Customer Request book at the register where customers can leave their name, number or email address to be contacted when a product is back in stock.

Can I pre-order something?

Yes. We do offer the pre-order option on books & products to be signed or sold at WACKO release & signing events. These items are marked on our website with event information.

I placed an order a week ago, but my credit card hasn’t been charged yet. Why?

Your credit card is charged when your order is ready to ship, not when you place your order. We do this so that we can hand-check your order to avoid the risk of fraud and error.

How do I know if the order I placed online went through?

An email confirmation will be automatically sent to you after you place your order. Normally you will receive this confirmation within minutes of placing your order. If you have not received a confirmation within 24 hours, please contact us & we will check our records for you.

What methods of payment do you take?

WACKO accepts VISA, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, bank debit cards with the VISA and Mastercard logos & PayPal. Apple & Google Pay are also accepted in store.

Is it safe to place orders on your website?

Yes. When you go into our Checkout Section, you’ll see the code “https” at the beginning of our website address. The “s” stands for SSL (secure sockets layer) encryption, which is an industry standard encryption program that protects all http transmissions from break-ins by unauthorized parties.

Is everything in the store available on your website?

No. It would be impossible for us to list the vast variety of products we have in store on our website. If you’re in Los Angeles, please come visit. We are conveniently located two blocks from the LA Metro Sunset / Vermont Red Line station in the beautiful neighborhood of Los Feliz. You won’t be disappointed, we guarantee.

Do you have more than one store?

No. There is only one WACKO.

Can you mail me a catalog?

WACKO does not have a catalog. As our inventory always changes, a printed catalog would be outdated in just days. Please check our website for our latest offerings. You can also join our mailing list to receive new product updates & up-to-date event information.

I produce a book / item that would be perfect for your store. How do I go about that?

If you have a product that you would like to see on the shelves of WACKO, please send an email to sales@soapplant.com with product sheet attached. Please be sure to include the wholesale cost of your product.

Note: Walk-in appointments to see our buyer do not exist. To schedule an appointment, please send a product sheet & written request to sales@soapplant.com.

Do you sell on consignment?

Very rarely. Questions about consignment should be forwarded to sales@soapplant.com.

Do you ever have store-wide sales?

Since WACKO is a small, independent business, we do not host store-wide sales like big box, chain retailers. One can always find a selection of items on sale along with several shelves of books that have been greatly discounted in the back of the store.

We do host several parking lot sales throughout the year at which we sell books, discounted jewelry, clothes along with other odds & ends. To receive notice of these follow us on social media.

I was in your store and noticed that you have an art gallery. How do I show my art in your gallery?

If you have questions regarding gallery submissions, exhibitions – past, present and future or special events, please contact the gallery director of La Luz de Jesus at info@laluzdejesus.com. Information regarding the gallery can also be found on its website – laluzdejesus.com.
